Dr. Veena Nair Sarkar

Dr. Veena is a public health professional with 18 years of experience in consulting, business development, research, conducting professional training, and teaching. She holds a PhD (Public Health) and an M.B.A (Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Hospital Management) from IIHMR University.

Her competencies have evolved in diverse fields across public and private sectors. She has conducted and managed monitoring and evaluation of 50+ small- and large-scale research projects. Her experience spans cross-cutting sectors of improving quality in medical education, gender, VAWG, empowerment, health issues (TB, HIV, malnutrition), health system strengthening, school education, climate resilience, agriculture, livelihood, WASH, health and hospital management, social development, human rights, humanitarian assistance, and disaster management.

She has expertise in conducting qualitative and quantitative research, data analysis, policy analysis, advocacy, communication, and training. She has written grants, bid for proposals, coordinated large-scale surveys, and facilitated professional training for various stakeholders. Dr. Veena is passionate about generating and disseminating evidence-based knowledge for social change and development.
